Stray cat - What should I do?
A cat arrived in my back yard last night. Skinny and looking for food. What do you recommend? Feed it or Ignore It? Feed it and it will stay and thats not what I want.
Have you any recommendations.

Best Answer - Chosen by Voters It's really sad to see so many stray cats but you have to take into account that it's not the cat's fault for the overpopulation. The fault lies with humans and irresponsible owners the cats suffer. Best to contact your local animal shelter. They can give it medical attention, shots and find a new home. Let me know if you have any difficulty finding a shelter and I'll lend you a hand. Hope this helps

I'm sure a local homeless shelter can set a trap and catch it. They maybe able to rehome it but only if it's not totally wild/ferral.

Hi there,
If you honestly don't want the cat hanging round, you are best to ignore it. Don't worry - you;re not been cruel. It'll soon find food for himself. He could be skinny if he has worms too.
