Description
SATURDAY: Canine Behavior Problems from Recognition to Resolution
Recognising the signals prior to an unwanted behaviour taking place requires an in depth understanding of canine body language. This topic presents how to interpret canine body language and discussions on common causative factors of behavior problems in dogs. Various common behavioural problems and an overview of treatment modalities are presented and discussed.
Puppies, Puppies, Puppies! A very popular topic, this covers puppies from birth through neonatal and primary socialization periods, the super puppy and other common programs. A discussion of Sarah's research on puppy selection (myth vs. reality) and gives attendees a strong understanding of where the behavior they work to develop or modify begins. A key factor is understanding sensory systems and learning theory basics all of which are covered.
SUNDAY: Treating Serious Aggression in Dogs
(Deconstructing the Growl) A look at both the science and the art of treating canine aggression from the initial phone conversation through a variety of treatment modalities (showing cases including resource guarding, dog-human aggression, leash reactivity, dog-dog aggression, OCD and other common problems)
