Description
The Phoenix Park at 707 hectares (1752 acres), is a historic landscape of international importance and one of the largest designed landscapes in any European city. It was originally established as a Royal deer park in the 17th century.
The Phoenix Park Shuttle Bus:
In 2008 the Phoenix Park Shuttle Bus was launched to provide an alternative method of travelling around the Park, other than by car. The shuttle bus operates on a circular loop around the Park. The bus starts and terminates at Parkgate St. and operates on a hop on- hop off basis at the various stops around the Park. The service operates every 60 minutes, on the hour every hour, between 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday to Friday, and 10 a.m.-7 p.m., on weekends and bank holidays.
The route which the Phoenix Park shuttle bus operates on is: Parkgate Street (Heuston/LUAS Stop) → Dublin Zoo & Garda HQ → Ratra House → Ashtown Gate→ Farmleigh →Ordnance Survey → Cheshire Home, Chapelizod → St. Mary's Hospital →Papal Cross → Visitor Centre → Dublin Zoo → Parkgate Street (Heuston/LUAS Stop).
Tickets are valid all day and prices range from Adults €2, Family €5 and €1 for children.
