Hi, my cat began scrathing and pulling out the fur on his lower back about 3 weeks ago,he was up to date with his flea treatments so i took him to the vet,thinking it was a skin condition, the vet said he had crystals in his urine and an infection,and he was pulling out the fur because the sensation was driving him nuts.
we gave him a course of anti biotics and now we'v started him on a diet of Royal Canin Feline Urinary S/O, havent seen any improvements yet.
has anyone else seen this probem in their cats?
it still looks like it could be a skin condition to me, but what do i know...
his back twitches and then he just suddenly turns around and goes at it, and when its really bad he rolls around on the ground.
any advice would be great thanks!

My cat sophie overgrooms herself and makes herself sore becouse of a food allergy.

hi thankfully none of my cats had this problem, but have you tried giving your cat allergy medicine the rescue i volunteer with had to give this to one of the dogs because he was itching so bad, i would also get a second oppinion from a different vet just to ease your mind.

It sounds like your cat has an allergic reaction to something. Sometimes they can overgroom themselves if they're stressed and this can lead to a skin infection and their fur can fall out. As someone else already said, I think you should get a second opinion.

The uninary infection is the disease of urine. Your pet may feel uncomfortable due to this. You just need to tack extra care of him...
