WOOF hi im Bod, Rescued last summer from Glansillagh Animal rescue in Glanmire. I'm over twice the weight i was, and I'm not scared of the world or people anymore. if something frightens me i just run back to mum(FIONA) and let her sort it. like the yorkie that went to attack me he hung onto my neck so i ran back to mums legs with yorkie still attached... i'm a lover not a fighter!! I do love to swim and swim and swim and love jumping off the pier and making a huge splash. people always say to mum that she wouldnt be scared with me around but they dont understand that i wont fight i dont know how. i'm friends with everything dogs cats hens ducks the pig rabbits everything.

i rescued a gorgeous baby bunny 2months ago she was totally emiciated at 0.8kg (should have been 1.5kg) she was being kept in a hamster cage and being fed on half an apple a day if she was lucky.
i took her in with the intention of pairing her of with my neutred male and keeping them instead of getting them rehomed as i had fallen head over heals.
3 weeks ago she was 1.7kg healthy happy and loved to sleep in bed with me and give me eskimo kisses.
just under 2 weeks ago my beautiful girl died with no reasons to why. the only thing i can think of is perhaps from being starved beforehand her organs had started to shut down. and rescuing her i perhaps just perlonged her life a little. she was in no pain what soever and the happiest little girl.
i hate those people who done that to her, and they hope i never see them again or they will hear about what happened her.
R.I.P my beautiful girl hollie

These 2 wonderful and beautiful cats were just abandoned near our gate last sept. Some excuse of a human just left them fend for themselves. They were terrified and are still edgy with men. It took a few days for them to come to me, I got them the best food I could get and one evening Phoenix wandered in to our bedroom, I picked him up and poor thing was shaking, I rubbed him till he purred and I was officially adopted as their human. I would like to tell who ever left them, look at them now and look at what your missing out on. They are so affectionate, wonderful and beautiful. My little boy adores them. They are brothers and Phoenix has long hair while Stellar has short hair. They love being rubbed, made fuss of and playing and they eat anything which is regarded as food. They had a bad start in life, but I hope they will be happy with us. That's my intention anyway..

i rescued my baby roxy (ikita lab X....well according to my vet!) 4 yrs ago on the 1st of feb.....she was abandoned at the garda station i just saw her big brown eyes and had to take her home she was about 8wks old then....had no idea how big she'd get or how much she'd cost me in blood sweat and tears (quite literally) but she's worth it.....there are days when i threatened to take her to the pound but she calmly looks up at me with those big brown puppy eyes and tilts her head from side to side and i melt all over again.....she's a handful a bloody nightmare but she's worth it!!!

Hi to all. I just joined petchums. Welcome to me, :). I adopted 2yr old springer spaniel girl from Monaghan dog shelter. I have her for last 2 weeks and I'm completely and totally in love with her. She makes me wanna quit job, and spend hours and hours roaming around Phoenix park, unsuccessfully trying to catch birds. Her name is Malaki and I'm Maya - Malakis Butler.

Hi everyone. We got one of our cats, Sophie from the Collon Animal Sanctuary nearly three years ago. She is a very big female that loves to bring home little presents to us. We unwillingly have to accept them.
She is a lovely cat and although we have two other cats she is very special to us. You can't open the fridge door without her looking for food. I think her favourite pasttime is eating. She doesn't like my food becasue I'm a vegetarian but she loves my husband's dinners!
