An unlikely patient walked into the emergency room at San Juan Regional Medical Centre on Saturday night. When the automatic doors opened hospital staff were surprised to find a dog with blood on his nose and paws...
Luckily the dog was only slightly injured after a suspected bite from another dog. "The irony of the situation is the dog wasn't doing well," said Robin Loev, animal control officer. "He was drooling and appeared to be sick." Loev responded to the emergency room at about 9:15 p.m. and found people gathered around the animal. "The patients were giving him a cup of water when I showed up," Loev said. The dog was said to be calm and seemed to almost instinctively know in was in the right place. The 7 year old, German Shepherd mix was taken to the Farmington Animal Shelter, where he was given water and a warm blanket and later claimed by his owners. Ahhhh don't you just love a happy ending :)
