Pets Love Yoga Too!
Written by Queen of Kitty Gossip on Monday, 22 March 2010
Five years ago photographer Dan Borris came across his first Yoga Dog. Otis was a two-year-old English Bull Terrier who loved to do yoga with his friend Joy. While Joy practiced her yoga, Otis would crawl around her legs and lick her face as she did a headstand. One day Otis began to copy Joy. ''At first he tried out simple poses, ones that came naturally to him like Downward and Upward Dog. As time went on Otis's poses became more and more complex, until finally he began his own practice'' explains Dan. While Otis himself wasn't captured on film, he did lead Dan on his path to finding other four-legged Yogis. And now there's a Yoga Cat Calendar for people who like cats more than dogs! Check out the Yogadogz.com website to read more and buy your very own calendar.

American pets are getting naughtier by the minute. As the demand for dog behaviorists and for prescription medication to combat "Doggie A.D.D." and anxiety continue to escalate, we have to wonder who's to blame for this hazardous trend. To answer the question, we have to first understand the phenomenon behind treating pets as humans.
As the number of kids per household declines, the number of pets is increasing. Baby boomers, a powerful segment of today's market, are quickly becoming empty-nesters and replacing their grown two-legged children with four-legged ones. Look no further than the proliferation of the term "pet parent" versus "pet owner". In fact, a full 83% of pet owners now call themselves their pet's mommy or daddy.
