Lisa Whelan and Tara Choules co-founded Dog Training Ireland in 2003. Their involvement with our canine friends stems back to initially their own dogs, and then rescue work and a passion for all things dog! Realising that there was a growing problem in Ireland and a lack of resources to help dogs and their owners, Dog Training Ireland was born. Lisa and Tara gained their HNC in Canine Training and Behaviour qualification from Bishop Burton College in the UK. They deal with a wide variety of dogs both from rescue and home environments and have vast experience of a wide variety of issues and the problems that dogs are faced with.



Although there are many breeds and many personalities our belief is that all dogs have basic core needs and once we fulfil these we can live in harmony with 'Man's best friend' and enjoy these amazing creatures for what they are. Lisa has 4 dogs, two Tibetan Terriers sisters called Millie and Honey, a Cocker Spaniel called Homer and a Tibetan Terrier Cross called Misty. They are all trained to a high standard. Misty loves Agility and Honey really enjoys her Flyball.Tara has two dogs, Zak and Beau. These are Miniature Smooth Dachshunds. Both are trained to a high standard and Zak enjoys mini agility.

We choose ONLY to use reward, praise based, humane, pain and shock free methods of working with your dog. We emphasise 'working with' your dog since your relationship should be one of harmony. Once that balance and bond is created a whole new world will open up for you and your canine friend.
